A Day With Estee Lauder

If you follow me on Instagram you know I hosted an event with Estee Lauder on Friday at the Macy's in Lakewood. I had so much partnering with Estee Lauder since I use a lot of their products and I swear by them. By the way I'm obsessed with the lipstick and lipliner they used, they mixed Pure Color Envy 110 and 260 and it looked amazing.Thank you to everyone that stopped by, it was so much fun!

Beautiful Lengths with Pantene

When Pantene asked me if I wanted to be part of “The Beautiful Lengths Program,” I immediately said yes. As many of you know I lost one of my best friends to breast cancer a few years ago and right now I know a few women that are fighting this horrible disease.  So, for me it is really important not only to help this cause, but also to educate and inform people of what we can do to help other women with cancer.

The Pantene Beautiful Lengths program, is a beautiful cause, because since it launched in 2006, it has been dedicated to providing free, real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.  I know from experience (family and friends that have had breast cancer) that when these women lose their hair, due to chemo, it takes a toll on their self-esteem. Many of them wear wigs but some of them can’t afford them. That’s why I think this program is amazing because thanks to Pantene a lot of women that have lost their hair are now able to wear wigs. Now they can look at themselves in the mirror, and still smile.

So, are you wondering how can you help this cause? It’s very simple; for one, you can donate your beautiful healthy hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. If you are interested in donating your hair, here are the hair donations requirements:

  •  Each hair donation must be at least 8 inches long
  • Hair may be colored with vegetable dyes, rinses and semi-permanent dyes. It cannot be bleached, permanently colored or chemically treated.
  • Gray hair is difficult to use in the wig-making process, so hair may not be more than 5% gray at the time of donation

Ponytails can be sent to:

Pantene Beuatiful Lengths Attn: 192-123 806 SE 18th Ave Grand Rapids, MN 55744

In my case, I would not be able to donate my hair because it has been chemically treated. But what if we don’t have healthy hair but still want to help this cause?  In that case, besides spreading the word about the campaign, now we can help this program too by making an $8 donation to The Pantene Beautiful Lenghts Fund, which was founded in 2014 with the hopes to give individuals like myself the opportunity to provide our support to this great cause.  The fund accepts monetary donations and 100% of contributions made to The Pantene Beautiful Lenghts Fund go directly to helping create free, real-hair wigs for women battling cancer.

My family and I will make our $8 donations since we can’t donate our hair, and now you can donate too, simply by going on this site: www.gcfdn.org/pantene or you can also sent a check to:

Pantene Beautiful Lengths Fund c/o Greater Cincinnati Foundation 200 W 4th Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202-2775

This year, National Donate Your Hair Day will be on September 8th, 2015 and it also marks the beginning of The Pantene Beautiful Lengths “$8 or 8 Challenge” which asks people to donate $8 or cut 8” of hair to create real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer. I hope we can all come together and help spread the word on our Social Media channels using the hashtag #8or8, #BeautifulLengths and tagging @Pantene.

And last, don’t forget to do a monthly breast self-exam and/or get a mammogram. A mammogram can help you detect cancer before you can feel a lump on your breast. I just turned 40 so I already scheduled my mammogram for next month.

Pantene Beuatiful Lengths Attn: 192-123 806 SE 18th Ave Grand Rapids, MN 55744

Pantene Beautiful Lengths Fund c/o Greater Cincinnati Foundation 200 W 4th Street Cincinnati, OH 45202-2775

Clinique 3-Step System

Hi Queens,

I hope you had a great weekend! It all started after I told you I was turning 40 in May. Ever since then, I've been bombarded with questions about how do I stay looking so young? Well, my secret to looking 40 and fabulous, it's very simple, taking care of my skin is a priority and has been since I was in High School.

I love that Clinique has a3-Step System for every skin type (Very Dry to Dry, Dry Combination, Combination Oily and Oily) that it's simple and most important, easy to follow. When Clinique invited me to their beauty counter, a few weeks ago, to talk about their 3-Step System, I smiled, because I knew exactly what the beauty consultant was talking about! After all, I've used all these products in High School and College. How could I forget about that yellow moisturizer; we've been through a lot ... I thought!

My skin consultant told me I had "Dry Combination" Skin. Sometimes my skin gets dry from all the traveling that I do and being in and out of planes, doesn't help either. Ladies, remember that it is very important to know what kind of skin you have before you start using any products. If you are not sure what your skin type is, make sure to stop by a Clinique counter and they can help you out! After my skin consultant told me what skin type I had, she walked me through all the skin products that I needed to use on daily basis: Liquid Facial Soap, Clarifying Lotion and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. All these products took me back to my younger days and I was excited to try them again!

CliniqueFacialSoap

Ever since my skin consultation, I've been using the Liquid Facial Soap to wash my face and I love that it's very light and gets rid of everything. Queens, make sure whatever you do, you don't forget to wash your face in the morning and at night. Never and I mean NEVER, go to bed with makeup on, that's the worse thing you can do for your skin.

CliniqueToner

After washing my face I apply the Clarifying Lotion with a cotton swab all over my face. Always be gentle and apply the product up and never down. This step is really important because the Clarifying Lotion will sweep away any impurities and excess oil, that way your moisturizer will do a better job! Then, I go ahead and apply the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion on my face and neck. Ladies, don't forget about to apply moisturizer on your neck either, I do it all the time to prevent my neck from aging as well. Overall these products were easy on my skin and left it looking fresh and nice. Oh, and did I tell you these products are very affordable too? Remember, start talking care of your skin at a young age, you will thank me later!

I love this outfit that I wore in Miami a couple of weeks ago. Miami is so hot and humid that these two-piece set was perfect. I paired it with some wedges, because I wanted to be comfy, and my favorite bag. I rarely wear wedges but these ones go with everything and are super cute.

Black Romper

OUTFIT DETAILS

Romper: c/o Lulus Shoes: Gucci similar HERE and HERE Sunnies: HERE Neckalce: c/o Tati Rocks

Hi Queens!!! As many of you know from Instagram, I had been feeling sick for the past week and a half. On Monday I woke up with the worse headache ever, I felt as if my head was going to explore so I went to ER. They found out I have a cervical sprain and torn some ligaments on my neck, that's what was causing my migraines and pain on my neck. I'm still in pain but I'm glad it wasn't anything worse. The doctors have managed my pain and I just need to rest now. Thank you to the amazing stuff at Standford Hospital for taking such good care of me and even following up with me today. Thank you God for never leaving my side. And of course, thank you for all your prayers and positive energy.

On a happier note, I wore this black romper to Mara Hoffman presentation for Miami Swim Weeek and I felt too sexy ha, ha, ha. I don't think I usually wear this kind of rompers but hey, Miami was super hot and I was melting. I completed the look with some Gucci sandals and this beautiful necklace from Tati Rocks on Esty. I hope you like the outfit!

PS: I know you can't leave a comment on my blog right now ... I screwed it up. But the great news is that I'm working on a new blog and it should be ready soon!

Besitos

My experience at the Clinique Counter

Hi Queens,

I hope you are having a fabulous weekend! It's no secret that I love getting dolled up either for TV or just for fun! So I was very excited when Clinique invited me to get pampered at one of their beauty counters, especially because it's been a while since I had a consultation.

As soon as I got there I felt right at home, the girl doing my makeup and everybody at the counter was so sweet and nice. The first thing she asked me was what my concerns were. I immediately told her I had just turned 40 and I was afraid I was going to start getting lines on my forehead and lips. Yes, she was a little surprised I was 40 ...ha,ha,ha, you know I felt good and happy! And then the consultation started.

She started off by cleaning my face with the Clinique Sonic Cleansing Brush, even though I've used cleansing brushes before this one felt soft and  I loved how light it was. She explained to me that no matter what I do it is really important to make sure I clean my face thoroughly in the morning and at night. Then she got my skin ready with their 3-Step Skin Care System. I remember using the 3-Step Skin System when I was in Hight School and in college. Their yellow moisturizer, I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with, felt like a long lost friend that I had just reunited with! My skin seemed to loved it, because I was glowing!!!

Then the fun part started and we moved on to makeup! I told her since I wear a lot of makeup on TV I like doing a natural softer look for regular days.  She did just that using a peach, gold and bronze palette.  If you've been following my blog for a while, you know that I LOVE a nude lip and I'm always looking for the perfect one. My dream came true when she showed me this gorgeous Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer in Beige Pop, it is perfection and it has become my new favorite lipstick especially because their smoothing primer makes it last for eight hours.

I can't wait to share more of my experience with Clinique. Until then, check out their Pop Lip Colours + Primer here. They come in 16 shades and they are all just as beautiful.

Romper for Miami Swim Week

OUTFIT DETAILS

Romper: c/o Lulus Shoes: HERE Bag: Here

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I was in Miami for Swim Week! I just got back on Tuesday and I'm already missing it. Well, not the weather because it's soooo humid in South Florida. And even tough I've covered New York Fashion Week before, this was my first time at Miami Swim Week. I had the best time attending shows, events, doing TV and mainly hanging out with my blogger bestie Dany from Nany's Klozet and Kelly Saks. There's something about Miami that makes you feel happy and relax. I can't wait to go back.
